IMMIGRATION Solution is NOT AMNESTY

It is the federal government's responsibility to control our borders. Earlier Administrations and Congress have created an untenable solution by not enforcing the law, now we must solve the problem. This includes:

• a rapid solution to secure the borders (I recommend a virtual fence made by an organization headquartered in our own District, SPAWAR)
• more agents (Henry Brown voted against increasing Immigration Agents by 2,000 in 2006 and against 25,000 new detention beds for illegals)
• more staff to process legal immigration applications
• a fail-proof system for businesses to check the status of all workers
• heavy penalties for businesses hiring undocumented workers
• we must deport all undocumented workers who are currently in our jails and prisons (we now house them for their sentence and then deport)

With no jobs, those here illegally will return home.

We are a nation of laws AND a nation of compassion. Although I applaud any person trying to do better for their familiy, we must stop circumventing the law. We also must decrease the waiting times for legal immigration.
