Male voters to turn toward Ketner [1]

Submitted by pundette on June 28, 2008 - 8:49pm.

In a great Bill Schneider column [2]in the National Journal (6/28/08), he notes that men are turning toward Obama. Why? The economy stupid! The weak economy is hitting SC hard and male voters will soon turn their allegiance toward change and away from stay the course.

Schnieder notes, "In the last nine presidential elections--going back to 1972--men have voted for the Democratic nominee only twice. They voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976, when the economy was bad and a Republican was in the White House. And they voted for Bill Clinton in 1992, when the economy was bad and a Republican was in the White House. Now it's 2008, and the economy is bad and a Republican is in the White House."

I'll leave you to figure out the end of the story!

The climate couldn't be better for Ketner [3]

The LA Times/Bloomberg survey conducted last weekend said that in a head-to-head contest, Obama had 49 percent support against 37 percent for McCain.

On a four-person ballot including two minor candidates -- consumer champion Ralph Nader and Libertarian Bob Barr -- Obama had an even bigger lead over McCain of 48 percent to 33.

Bush's job performance is at a new low for the Times/Bloomberg Poll: only 23% approved of the job Bush is doing, and 73% disapproved.

51% of voters said they have a "positive feeling" about the Democratic Party; only 29% said they have a positive feeling about the Republican Party.

The climate for Linda Ketner to win couldn't be better!  People are looking for a new path forward!

Democratic Primary [6]

Don't forget to vote for our candidate, Linda Ketner, in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, June 10!!   Voter turnout is predicted to be low so it's very important that we all get to the polls!

Thank You [7]

It was really terrific to see so many good friends this past weekend at the Convention in Columbia. I have never, and I mean never, seen this type of confidence and enthusiasm among party leaders in South Carolina.   We're believing in ourselves and our ability to win and move South Carolina forward and I adore it!

Another "I have never" was the standing ovation you District 1 folks gave me in the caucus!!   And the memory of the "Linda, Linda, Linda" chant will always humble me and also keep my battery charged for months!  And, let's not forget how well we sang Zachius!

I was glad for the opportunity to share my plan for a new path forward for South Carolina and for our country. The "same old" just won't do anymore, and I am tremendously grateful for the endorsement of so many leaders who agree that now is our time here in the 1st district.

A Beautiful Beginning [8]

Last Thursday, I announced my candidacy for congress and as my first official act, I curbed the pollen by having it rain torrentially!  Seriously, the spirit of excitement in the tent at our first stop, Charleston, was palpable and positive as we begin this journey together down a new path forward for the first district and for South Carolina!   If I ever doubted our district's readiness for constructive change, it was dispelled that morning in the pouring rain.  The energy and excitement under that packed tent was electrifying!
